So how can we pressure-test to see if we are effectively using outcomes? One popular way is to use the OKR (Objective & Key Result) method. In this method, you define what success looks like - the Objective, or the goal to be achieved - and plan the steps needed to achieve it. The Key Results are how you will measure your success - note the word “measure” - meaning there is a number attached to it.
In this method, the emphasis is on the end result, not the process to get there. Why is this important? It allows teams to become laser-focused on what’s really important, create transparent goals across teams, and ultimately drive faster results across the organization.
