- Aligning Outcomes and OKRs across the organization provides clarity on the “why” for our teams and helps provide the guidance needed for prioritizing work. If we share the value we are trying to deliver or the goal we are trying to achieve, it’s easier for those solving the problem to make good decisions.
- Reviewing your “team of teams” design and updating your operating model will allow you to evaluate how work flows through your system. Do you have bottlenecks or dependencies that need to be addressed? Do you have too many people in the wrong area? We don’t have to change who reports to who, but looking at how value flows is an important part of understanding the way your system works and if it's effective.
- Product Discovery & “new ways of working” allow us to go beyond IT and what we traditionally think of as Agile and bring agility concepts to all types of teams. This will help ensure we are building the right product to solve our customer needs in the most efficient way possible, and producing the highest value features first. Focus less on process and more on value delivered.
We support this work by creating enterprise-wide visibility and supporting internal change agents. We can still create a physical room where we gather to have these conversations and make the work visible, but the high distribution of teams, and the presence of a virtual workforce makes having a digital version a high priority for many organizations.
When we accept that change is a constant, we can make smarter decisions about how, when and at what rate change will come. There will always be surprises, but when we embrace change and go with the flow instead of fighting it, amazing things can happen with our teams and leaders.
